New highhat stands don't seem to have as much up and down motion plat to work with. In other words how much flexibility you have in setting the distance between your highhats when open. Maybe it's just a direct drive thing. Takes some getting used to.

Great Hi hat stand although
Great Hi hat stand although I had to cut about 6" off of the top of the rod as it was way too high. I have had to do the same to other hi hat stands by other manufacturers, so it is the norm.
