Better clamping for Electronic Drum Multipads

I love Gibraltar products. I have a lot of them. The stand for the electronic multipad could use some improvement for me. I'm an older drummer and have arthritis in both hands. I switched to the multipad because it's hard for me to lift acoustic drums and set them up. It' also hard to hold up my Roland SPD-30 and mount it on the stand. I have to hold up the module, bend down sideways, find the clamp and guide the mount into the opening. All the while I'm hoping the open end clamp doesn't flip open and reset the operation of trying to mount the multipad. If the clamp were close ended instead of open ended, it would be a bid more of a positive hold while mounting/tightening. Or am I doing this wrong? Is there another piece of hardware that I should be using? Maybe there is a closed end clamp that you have that I could use to swap out the open ended one? Thanks for listening.
