He has a solid musical background developed both in the United States and Mexico.

Among the mayor awards bestowed upon him are: • In 1992 by the Mayor and Council of El Paso, Texas
• In 1994 by Berklee College of Music (World Tour Scholarship)
• In 1998 and 1999 by SUTM (the Mexican Music Workers Union)
• In 2002 by the Honduras and Costa Rica Teleton organization

• In 2004 and 2009 as “Best 2003-2004 and 2008-2009 Teacher by I.T.E.S.M (Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey).

He has also participated in both important television and radio programs as in internationally renowned festivals. Roberto Serrano encompasses almost every musical genre, from classic jazz to the most current music on the radio, without forgetting classic rock, American folk, and ballroom and concert hall music. He has also worked for movie soundtracks and theater scores.

Roberto has recorded and worked with producers like:

He also makes live presentations in different tours through many cities of Central and South America, Mexico, the United States and Europe. He supports jazz and rock bands, musical theater plays and has his own personal musical projects. He has many drum and percussion students, is part of the faculty at I.T.E.S.M. in Ciudad Juarez, and gives personal drumming and percussion clinics in different cities.

He was part of the instructors that did some clinics in the Percusive Art Society (P.A.S.) California 2006, and part of the Percusive Art Society Internacional Convention (P.A.S.I.C.) 2006.

Roberto Serrano recorded and was part of the two Arpa Award winner (Album of the Year 2006 and Best Production) and Grammy 2006 nominated album “El aire de tu casa” (Jesús Adrian Romero).

He was part of the Jesus Adrian Romero’s 2008 Grammy nominated album “Ayer te ví... fue mas claro que la Luna”, production that won two ARPA awars.

He also had been share credit with another international musicians like Michael Landau, Abraham Laboriel, Alvaro Lopez and John Peña.

Roberto recorded in the Jesus Adrian Romero’s 2010 production “El Brillo de mis Ojos”, which got another Grammy 2010 nomination.
